Play for FA

Kevin McQueen, a principal at CapTech, his wife Lorraine and a group of very dedicated friends organize the annual Play for FA Casino Night and Silent Auction. The proceeds of the event benefit the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, Inc. that funds and coordinates research into a cure for Fanconi Anemia (FA). Last year's event raised more than $30,000 dollars.

Kevin and Lorraine's son, Sean, suffers from this rare genetic disorder in which all of the cells of the body lack a crucial protein. The result is life-threatening aplastic anemia (insufficient production of all blood cells) and often leukemia. Since all of the body's cells are affected, patients also have an increased chance of getting cancer. Patients rarely live to adulthood. However, promising new treatments such as bone marrow transplantation and gene therapy offer significant hope.
